Fundamentals & Principles
A great logo is clean, well drawn, optically balanced, scales well, distinct, carefully researched and will withstand the test of time. To achieve this, you will need an in-depth knowledge and understanding of the basics of a logo and the underlaying principles for designing a great one.
Start with the basics
Learn what a logo is and the properties that makes a good logo. Familiarize yourself with the essential design principles used for making logos.
Know your Logos.
Learn the different styles and major classifications of logos to know which type is best for your projects.
The nuts and bolt of a logo
Separate yourself from amateurs by learning the psychology behind colours, shape and the typography used in logo design.
Get practical and hands on
Your technical skills of both using the necessary tools for logo design and how you handle projects will ultimately determine your success as an identity designer. With the fundamentals dialed down, we will proceed to learning the practical steps of logo design. From generating project brief to concept ideation and how to get clients on board with your design.
Logo Design techniques
Learn the tips and tricks used to manipulate type and shapes to achieve astonishing logos. Using these techniques, we will create monograms, abstract and emblem logos. We will also explore certain effects that are used for logo designs.
From Brief to Logo
Learn how to translate a project brief to a beautiful and functional design. We will discuss in details how to use mind mapping to generate ideas and bring them to live from sketch to finish logo. You will also learn how to export and arrange logo files for delivery.
Logo Presentation Matters
A sure-fire way to get clients excited about your logo design is to show them their logo out in the real world. Of course, this is nearly impossible to do without their approval. The solution? Mock-ups. Mock-ups do a fantastic job of giving your client an idea of how their logo will look in any application.

To make the course fully practical and interactive, we will take on a logo design project and apply all that we have learn from the course to achieve a great logo. From a brief, we will dissect it and determine what type of logo will be right for the project and then used our mind mapping process to generate ideas and concept. This will show you how to handle your logo design projects with tips on how to get your client sold on the design direction you want to take before you even get to work. You will also learn of how to research for logo design projects and places to get design inspiration from and how to filter the noise.
At the end of the project, you will now be given a project brief which you will used all that you learned to create an amazing identity for a brand that you have chosen to work on. This could either be real client project to a fictitious brand. It will be your capstone project for the course. Your design will be critique and necessary feedback and corrections given for you to further sharpen your skills.
