Working with colour, typography & images
As a designer, any design project you are working on, you will find yourself using one or two of these major elements of design if not all of them. Colour, typography and images are some of the elements that we used almost every time to add beauty to our design and communicate a message or an idea effectively. This course x-rays these elements in details using clear and real project examples to drive the point home.
Explore Colour Theory & Psychology
You will learn all there is to know about colour and the science behind it. Starting from colour theory, we will look at the colour wheel and dissect different types of colours and colour schemes. We will then move on to talk about the psychology of colours where will explore how colours affect emotion. At the end of the course you will have a good understanding of how to choose colours for your projects.
Befriend Type & Master it.
On the part of typography, we will look at what typography is and how it is important in design. You learn the types of fonts available, how and when to use any in a design work. We explore all the different terminologies of typography from kerning, tracking to leading and the rest. Choosing and pairing fonts in design will be an issue of the past for you after taking this course.
Use Images Correctly & Appropriately
Lastly, you will learn about the best practice of using images in your design. Images have a great power of enhancing a piece of design when done right, but when used wrongly either due to size, quality or just plain out of context, it has the tendency of devaluing your design. You will also learn how and where to source for the right images for your projects and how to modify or manipulate them if need be.
